Founded in 1983, Rowrbrazzle was a highly influential and near-legendary fanzine, or more accurately, an “APA” – Amateur Press Association.* In the pre-internet era the by-invitation-only publication was a prestigious outlet for high-profile furry artists and later, furry authors and critics. With thousands of furry artists sharing their work online today, Rowrbrazzle, while still being published with a much smaller roster of contributors, is no longer the “only game in town” for furry artists.
* In an APA, only its contributing members receive a copy of the finished publication containing their own and their fellow contributors’ work. Its tiny “members-only” distribution added to Rowrbrazzle‘s mystique.
